The 24th Annual Elko Senior Olympic Games promises another exciting year of competition, fun, and community spirit, proving that some of life’s greatest accomplishments and fun begin after age 50.

The Elko Senior Olympic Games are returning in July for their annual celebration of fitness, friendship, and healthy competition. The Games bring together adults aged 50 and better from across Northeastern Nevada and surrounding areas. The event continues to grow as one of the region’s most anticipated gatherings for active senior adults, proving that age is no barrier to athletic achievement, community involvement, and just plain fun!

The Elko Games were founded in 2002 to promote wellness and physical fitness, but also to encourage seniors to build friendships and connect with others, improve mental health and wellbeing, provide camaraderie and a sense of belonging.

This year’s event features more than 20 competitions and activities designed to encourage both physical and mental fitness. Participants can choose from traditional athletic events such as track and field, golf, bowling, cycling, pickleball, cornhole, and walking events to name a few. Or participants can choose from several “brain games” that challenge the mind as well as the body. Each event is divided into five-year age brackets to ensure fair competition, while catering to a wide range of abilities, and allowing participants to enjoy athletic challenges while staying healthy and connected.

Events will take place at several venues throughout Elko and Spring Creek, showcasing the community’s commitment to supporting active seniors. This year’s Games will begin on July 17–18 and continue July 22–25, 2026. Opening ceremonies and closing ceremonies, to be held at the Senior Center, provide additional opportunities for participants, volunteers, family members, and spectators to come together and celebrate the achievements of our inspiring local athletes.

The Elko Senior Olympic Games would not be possible without the incredible dedication of numerous volunteers, coordinators, generous local sponsors, and community partners who help make the event possible each year. Their efforts ensure that participants have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience while fostering a spirit of inclusion and community pride.
