ONLINE Healthy Teens Program for Grades 8-12

Family Resource Center is hosting a free Healthy Teens program online for teens in Grades 8-12 (minimum age 13) in any of the following Nevada counties: Elko, Humboldt, Lander, Pershing, Eureka, and White Pine. “Making Proud Choices” is a lively, evidence-based, age-appropriate program, proven effective in reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and teen pregnancy. This program incorporates medically accurate information along with crucial knowledge on how to help teens keep themselves safe and handle social pressures. They learn about reproductive health, hygiene, effective communication, responsibility, healthy relationships, avoiding risky behaviors, goal setting, and build knowledge and confidence. Participants will need access to a computer, tablet, or smart phone as well as headphones and as private of a workspace as possible. Class will be live via Zoom; materials will be available digitally or can be picked up for those in the Elko/Spring Creek area. Youth who complete the program receive a free backpack full of school supplies. One free incentive allowed per teen per year (Oct 2022-Sept 2023).
