Friends in Service Helping

The impact of the COVID-19 on the F.I.S.H. Food Bank operations here in Elko has changed drastically.  Not only has there been a dramatic increase in need of services from the food bank,
but the food bank is not allowed to accept any “private” food donations during the pandemic.

The Food Bank is now a “drive-thru” pick-up for food boxes.  Clients do not exit their vehicles for this service.  Walk-up clients are welcome to attend.  This is available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The Soup Kitchen is available for “to-go” meals on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

The Samaritan House Emergency Shelter Home is open Monday-Sunday from 6 p.m. – 8 a.m. at 487 S. 5th Street.  Currently the F.I.S.H. Thrift Store is closed as it is deemed a “non-essential” service.

We are allowed to accept monetary donations so that F.I.S.H. can purchase food items for the food bank.  Your gift donation can be doubled to help food insecure families in Elko County during this crisis. To support F.I.S.H. with a monetary donation please visit their website or mail a donation to: 821 Water St., Elko, NV, 89801

F.I.S.H. is working to coordinate with other agencies to ensure that our neighbors that are in need of food receive the help they need.

This situation has touched the personal and professional lives of all of us.  We are grateful for our community and the support that we’ve received during the COVID-19 Pandemic allowing us to help others.

The team here at F.I.S.H. is dedicated to our individuals, families, community and partners we work with to persevere in the weeks to come.
