February Healthy Teens Program for Grades 5-7
Saturday, February 11th, 9:00am-4:00pm
Family Resource Center is hosting a free Healthy Teens program for youth in Grades 5-7 (ages 10-12). “Promoting Health Among Teens” is a lively, evidence-based, age-appropriate program, proven effective in reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and teen pregnancy. This program incorporates medically accurate information along with crucial knowledge on how to help youth keep themselves safe and handle social pressures. They learn about reproductive health, puberty, hygiene, responsibility, avoiding risky behaviors, and build knowledge and confidence.
Youth who complete the program receive a free backpack full of school supplies or a $25 gift card – AND are eligible to apply for our new SCHOLARSHIP program! Held at the FRC, 331 7th St. in Elko. Lunch will be provided for attendees. Pre-registration preferred; permission slip signed by parent/guardian required: contact us at 775-753-7352, text 775-397-1874, or email teenhealth@elkofrc.org.
