There’s something special about shopping local. It’s more than simply checking items off your shopping list; it’s supporting your neighbors, strengthening our local economy, and discovering the unique businesses that make the Elko area one of a kind. The Elko Area Chamber invites the community to do just that through its First Friday Shop Local Promotion.
Designed to encourage residents and visitors alike to explore Chamber member businesses, First Fridays turns everyday shopping into an opportunity to win while making a meaningful impact close to home.
Here’s how it works: Pick up a First Fridays stamp card at any participating business and start shopping! Each qualifying purchase earns you a sticker. Once your card is filled, simply return it to the month’s featured business to be entered into a drawing for $100 in Chamber Checks, which can be spent at participating Chamber member businesses throughout the community.
The winning entry is drawn on the first Friday of the following month, giving shoppers a new opportunity to participate month after month.
For the month of August, the featured business is Red Wing Shoe Store. After completing your stamp card, be sure to drop it off there before the drawing on Friday, September 4, for your chance to win.
With nearly 20 participating businesses, First Fridays is about more than just earning stickers. It’s an invitation to step into businesses you may not have visited before, reconnect with your favorite local establishments, and discover everything our community has to offer.
