Nite at the Races

Dust off your derby hats! On Friday, August 15th, Communities In Schools (CIS) of Northeastern Nevada will host its 12th Annual A Nite at the Races at the Elko Conference Center. This lively fundraiser combines video horse racing, delicious food, raffle prizes, and silent auction – all to support local students and families.

The evening kicks off at 5:30 PM with doors opening, followed by the first race at 7:00 PM. Guests will enjoy 10 virtually filmed horse races, a tasty dinner catered by Dos Amigos, beverages from Blach Distributing, and numerous chances to win prizes through races, raffles, and auction. Don’t forget to wear your best derby attire for a chance to win the Best Dressed prize!

While the night is packed with fun, it’s the cause behind the event that makes it truly meaningful. As the nation’s largest dropout prevention program, Communities In Schools works inside our Elko County School District  to ensure students in grades K–12 have  a community of support empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

From weekend food bags and clothing to academic support and mental health services, CIS in Elko partners with community organizations and businesses to break down barriers and give every student the opportunity to succeed. Every ticket purchased supports programs that directly impact students’ lives, helping them overcome challenges and stay on track to graduate.
