Get ready to dust off your derby hats and join us for an unforgettable evening! Communities In Schools is thrilled to announce our annual fundraiser, A Nite At The Races, happening on Friday, August 16th. This exciting event promises a night of thrilling video race action, all for a great cause. As the Northeastern affiliate of the nation’s largest dropout prevention program, Communities In Schools of Northeastern Nevada is dedicated to helping students succeed in school and stay on track for graduation.
Celebrate the 11th Annual A Nite At The Races at The Elko Conference Center, with doors opening at 5:30 PM and the first race starting at 7:00 PM. Feel the excitement as you watch professionally filmed horse races on the big screen, cheering for your favorites just like you’re at the track! If you’re gearing up for the live horse races at the Elko County Fairgrounds, this event is the perfect way to get in the spirit. Invite your friends for a night of food, horse racing, and fun that you won’t want to miss!
The excitement starts at the will-call table with check-in beginning at 5:30 PM. You’ll receive your race program and a ticket for each of the 10 thrilling races throughout the evening. Yes, that’s 10 races and 10 chances to win fantastic prizes! Enjoy a scrumptious dinner by Dos Amigos, beverages from Blach Distributing and show off your best derby attire for a chance to win a prize. There will also be an option to participate in both the general raffle and silent auction to win some great prizes and have a chance to bid on some destination packages.
What makes this event truly special is the cause it supports. CIS of Northeastern Nevada works tirelessly to support children in grades K-12, connecting them with vital resources. Families in Elko and surrounding areas often face challenges in accessing the services they need. CIS partners with community organizations, businesses, safety-net providers, churches, service groups, and agencies to enhance access to existing services or create new ones. From WeekEND food packs and clothing to coordinating mental health services and academic support, CIS goes above and beyond to break down barriers so our students can be successful in school.
A Nite At The Races promises a night of excitement, delicious food, great company, and a festive atmosphere. Tickets are $60.00 per person or $100 per couple.
