The Commemorative Garcia Bit

Celebrating 130 years since Garcia Bit & Spur Co. came to Elko, NV.

In the fall of 1893, a young GS Garcia stepped off a train in the cowtown of Elko, Nevada, and a legacy was born. Garcia, a man of vision and ahead of his time in the promotion of his business, created a worldwide name that became synonymous with quality craftsmanship in both saddles and silver. He was known for having some of the very best craftsmen in his shop. Throughout the many decades since that autumn day, Garcia’s legacy continued as the Garcia Bit & Spur Co. was carried on by his sons, Henry and Les, and in 1978 purchased by J.M. Capriola Co. The J.M. Capriola Co. continues to look to the future, upholding the standards of quality, creativity, and functionality that were passed on to them. Today, all bits and spurs are handmade by either Jon Peters or John Wright, uniquely engraved and all are built right here in the United States.
