The Tuscarora Experience, June 19, 2021
The Tuscarora Pottery School and the Friends of Independence Valley are partnering to host a community event, The Tuscarora Experience, on June 19, 2021. The Pottery School, celebrating its 55th anniversary will offer raku demonstrations, tours of the facility, and the gallery will be stocked with Tuscarora t-shirts, and pottery by many artists who are connected with the school. Live bands will provide music to entertain guests, who can watch from the Society Hall’s new deck and stadium seating. Tuscarora is home to generational ranching and art families and we invite the public to celebrate our enduring and unique community.

Tuscarora Summer Retreat and Pottery School is announcing the 2021 summer class schedule.
Their goal is to provide a concentrated, supportive atmosphere for students seeking an introduction to ceramics, as well as advanced classes for seasoned practitioners wanting to expand their skills and confidence. The rustic, beautiful and inspirational location gives students time and space for focus and concentration. Students live in a historic rooming house and work in family-built studio buildings located in the Independence Valley, the heart of the high desert, an hour northwest of Elko, Nevada. The school, founded in 1966, sits in a shaded, grassy oasis, surrounded by vast open spaces, clear skies and rugged mountains. This retreat from the busy world provides the backdrop for our concentrated classes.
