Isabel Sanchez Mora

Northeastern Nevada Featured Artists

Contributed by Susanne Kaime Reese

Isabel has been drawn to the arts for a life time; celebrating music, visual arts, design, dance, and photography. Her early years were influenced by the culture and art of Costa Rica with a family who supported her diverse education and exploration of the artistic world. An education that developed her appreciation and talents in many mediums.

Isabel earned her MBA (Master in Business Administration) from Incae Business School. Her career is in investment banking and stock market regulations, working with Costa Rican and U.S. companies. She was a professor at the University of Costa Rica and has been teaching Spanish at Great Basin College.

Isabel says that moving to Elko, joining the Elko County Art Club, and taking classes, opened a new spectrum of art in her life. After classes at GBC she discovered her newest passion, emersion in the clay and pottery medium. She says her focus is on both the texture and color washes that embellish each pottery design. The designs she visualizes and the texture and feeling in her fingertips, molds creations that are both tactile and ephemeral.

Ms. Sanchez donates volunteer hours dedicated to children’s Art and History Education Outreach Programs. Her business is Inner Sage Inspiration and she has designed Nevada themed apparel to inspire pride in yourself and your culture.
